Tunisia footwear and leather industries exports has made a “low development” at the end of the first quarter of 2012 compared to the same period of 2011qui is stopped only at 1.
A newsletter published Friday to the press by the CNCC, this evolution was of the order of 12.9% over the same period of the past year.
In figures, the exports of this sector reached 258.3 million dinars (equivalent to 0.64 dollar a dinar), against 254, 3 in 2011. For imports, the balance sheet reported an increase of 5.4% from 2011.
Therefore, the trade balance shows a coverage rate of 178,4% with a trade balance of 113.5 million dinars, from the bulletin of the CNCC. However, exports in euro of the industries of leather and footwear (ICC) observed a decline of 0.5% in the first quarter of 2012 to 2011.
The distribution of Tunisian exports by products showed a performance complete footwear which provided 58, 8% of the overall achievements of the sector of the ICC.
Second rank come the uppers of shoes (17.7% of global achievements) followed by the articles of leather goods with 13% of the achievements of the sector.
On imports, leather, skins and furs were the main imported products in the first three months of the year 2012, the equivalent of 51.4% of the total volume of Tunisian imports, always according to the bulletin of CNCC.
Tunisian products are exported mainly in the direction of the Italy, the France, the Germany and the Spain, but also “in small quantities” to markets like Hong Kong, the Turkey, the Belgium and the Switzerland, still indicated the CNCC in its newsletter.
