Ensures the objective of the authorities national is improve the competitiveness of productive sectors and promote their internationalization, which is expected earn greater currency and balance of payments.
Richard Zambrano, Undersecretary of Micro, small and medium enterprises (SMMEs), indicated that over the past almost four years was has invested one million dollars to implement the design centre of Ambato, also in Tungurahua, to improve quality, fashion and trend in footwear.

This decision of the sector enabled a growth in production, were 28 million pairs of shoes from the registration of 2008, 15 million units in 2011.
